Hotel Ametyst has become known as "The Gallery Hotel?. Original works of art, including oil paintings and pastel drawings adorn its walls and are offered for sale. Decorations of the hotel thus change continually.
Right behind the hotel you'll find a functioning vineyard in park Havlíčkovy sady. Meander its many walkways and stroll past the beautiful Villa Gröbe (Grébovka). This wonderful example of Neo-Renaissance architecture was built as a luxury summer house for industrialist Moritz Gröbe between 1871 to 1888. Before you leave, be sure to enjoy a glass of wine in the park's gazebo. From this high vantage point you can overlook Prague's city skyline in an area not known to most tourists.
Hotel Ametyst is by no means "off the beaten path". A 10 to 15 minute walk will have you on top of Wenceslas Square and in front of the National Museum. All major tourist and shopping venues are right there at your disposal.
If you'd rather travel by public transportation, subway/metro stop "Náměstí Míru" (line A) is three blocks away. In one, two, three or four stops you can be either in top of Wenceslas Square, the bottom of it, at Old Town Square station or Lesser Town station - getting to all the historical areas of Prague could not be easier!
Numerous trolley and bus stops are also close by.
