An ancient hotel "Dum u Cerveneho Lva" - "The House at the Red Lion" - is located in the historical centre of the city, right on the "King's road" in close vicinity of the main entrance gate to the Prague Castle.
The first written records of the house date back in the 15th century. Well preserved basement rooms are from the Gothic period. Renaissance style is manifested in the painted beam ceilings while the entrance portal is the result of the baroque reconstruction of the house. |

Later adaptations brought new architectural elements, among which stand out the classicist ones. The last reconstruction in 1994-5 faithfully preserved the historical character of the building. |
